Covid-19 Impact on Jobs in the US
"When restaurants shut their doors and hotels turned tourists away in an effort to contain Covid-19, U.S. nonfarm payrolls shed 17 percent of jobs in the span of two months. Last April, the number of nonfarm employees dipped to 130 million, the lowest employment number the country has recorded since 2010. More than a year following that April nosedive, 145 million Americans are employed as of May 2021. That still leaves a gap of 7 million jobs from pre-pandemic times."
